Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village is set in secluded bush right in the in Cradle Mountain Valley on the edge of the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain / Lake St Clair National Park.

The Wilderness Village was opened in 2000 and has 37 environmentally sensitive, self contained cottages. These range from one bed room to chalets and villas big enough for a large family or group. There is an option for everyone whether you are seeking a short romantic holiday escape or are with a group looking to explore the National Park.

All accommodation has private balconies where you can enjoy the delightful mountain views, indiginous plants and special Tasmanian wildlife that live and graze throughout the Village. Wallabies, wombat, pademelon, possum or currawong are often seen from your cottage balcony and they are a photographers delight.

Each cottage at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village has a fully equipped kitchen so it is up to you, eat in or dine out in the Cradle Mountain area. There is a communal bbq where you can share stories of your day’s outing in the National Park while cooking a local steak or some Tasmanian seafood. The kids can burn off the final bit of their energy for the day in the well equipped play area.

Just to summarise, all the cabins at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village have well-equipped kitchenettes, tea/coffee making facilities, private verandas, LCD TVs, free in-house movie channels, clock/radio, ensuite bathrooms, electric heating, electric blankets (in main rooms), double glazed windows and full insulation and STD/ISD telephones.

There is also a guest lounge with views across Cradle Valley to Cradle Mountain. It is the perfect place to share your day’s experiences while enjoying an evening drink, playing board games or just curling up with a book. Guest internet access is also available in the lounge.
