Activities Cradle Mountain National ParkIf you are searching for a list of activities to enjoy while visiting Cradle Mountain Tasmania here are 15 different ideas to help you get the most out of your visit to the National Park.

Think wilderness and wildlife. Think getting out into a wild place and exploring it by foot and being entranced by spectacular scenery and Australian native wildlife.

Think adventure and lots of outdoor activities.

Remember , be prepared for variable weather conditions and pack appropriate clothing. Lot’s of our suggestions take you into the outdoors and it is important to keep warm and dry.

Away you go:

  1. Enjoy the Dove Lake circuit walk over a brisk 2 hours.  The path is well graded and suitable for all ages.
  2. Wander into Wombat’s Pool and keep your eye out for a platypus
  3. Climb the track up to Marions Lookout and be in awe of the views
  4. Enjoy the Enchanted Walk and be immersed in the rainforest
  5. Photograph a Pademelon grazing on it’s evening meal
  6. Wander along the boardwalk from the Interpretation Centre to Dove Lake
  7. Visit the Devils at Cradle and watch them growl
  8. Take a Night with the Animals Tour and see some Aussie wildlife
  9. Immerse yourself in 10 rooms of Wild Photography at the Wilderness Gallery
  10. Take a free guided tour with a National Park ranger (seasonal)
  11. Get your adrenaline flowing and canyon a wild river
  12. Make your heart race and climb to the top of Cradle Mountain
  13. Spot a wombat and get some great photographs
  14. Take the King Billy Track and discover ancient King Billy pines up to 1500 years of age.
  15. Absorb the history and explore wander around the Waldheim Chalet

    You need at lease 6 months in Tasmania and a week at Cradle to make the most of it all. People who have a one day “in and out” miss out on so much.
